APP STORE / REGION

App Store and account region

This section of the Shadowrocket official website and manual explains how to verify the app before purchase. First check which App Store your account can access, then verify the app’s identity and complete the purchase at the price shown in the store. The button above links to the product page with app ID 932747118. Opening the page does not complete a purchase; payment must still be confirmed through the App Store.

Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China App Store. The country or region associated with your Apple Account determines which App Store you see. Your device’s current location and system language are separate from its store region. If you can’t find Shadowrocket, first check the region of the account used for Media & Purchases rather than trying different search terms. The product page may open in a browser even if your account can’t complete the purchase.

Check your country or region on your device

On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Check the region shown, then compare it with the account currently used in the App Store. You may be asked to verify your identity. Account labels can vary between system versions, so follow the prompts on your device. You only need to check which store the account uses; system language and time zone do not determine the store region.

To change your country or region, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region. If you first see “View Account,” open it and look for “Country/Region.” Whether you can make a change depends on your account status and the conditions Apple shows at the time. Follow the on-screen steps, then check the store again. Completing a step does not necessarily mean the change has taken effect, and a successful change cannot be guaranteed in advance.

If the store says your payment method isn’t valid, your account needs attention, or the content isn’t available in your region, note the message and address each issue separately. Store availability, payment verification, and device compatibility are different checks; passing one doesn’t mean the others have passed. When you’re done, return to the product page and verify the app name, developer, and purchase button before continuing with installation.

IDENTITY / THREE CHECKS

Three ways to verify Shadowrocket

Search by name, then confirm the developer, official icon, and app ID to verify the app.

Developer

Shadow Launch Technology Limited

Open the app details and check the full developer name, not just the search result title. Similar names, near-identical spellings, or extra wording do not replace this check.

Official icon

White background with a blue-violet outlined rocket

Compare the App Store icon with the official icon in this site’s header, checking the background, outline, and colors. A similar icon is only a clue; verify the developer and app ID as well.

App ID

932747118

The product page address should include id932747118. The app ID is an important way to confirm the product. Don’t rely on the link title or search snippet alone.

App Store search results may include apps with the same name, imitations, or similar icons. Shadowrocket is the full app name to search for; a nickname is not an App Store identifier. Open the product details and check each item. If any of the three checks don’t match, don’t purchase. Return to the product page linked here and verify it again.

Distinguish the text in an app description from the developer information officially shown by the App Store. Mentioning a product name in a description doesn’t prove that the app is that product. When the purchase confirmation appears, check the name and price once more to ensure they match the product details you just verified. Prices can vary by store, so a similar price alone doesn’t establish that it’s the same app.

Updates after installation are also handled through the App Store. When reviewing update details, use the product page associated with the same app ID. You don’t need to repurchase based on version information found elsewhere. This manual doesn’t list specific version numbers, update dates, or system requirements, since those details can change.

IPHONE / FIRST OPEN

Buy, install, and open Shadowrocket on iPhone

On your iPhone, open the correct product page and expand the compatibility details to check whether your device meets the requirements. See the App Store listing for system requirements. If the store says your device isn’t compatible, address the device or system requirements first; don’t mistake a compatibility warning for a payment failure. If the button shows a price, follow the store’s purchase steps. If it shows a download icon, first check whether you already own the app.

After payment, wait for the App Store installation to finish, then open Shadowrocket from the Home Screen or App Library. Purchase confirmation, file transfer, and installation are separate steps. A successful payment doesn’t mean the app is fully installed. While you wait, check your network connection and available storage instead of repeatedly tapping the purchase button. If the process stops, return to the store listing and check the button and your purchase history.

Opening the app doesn’t mean a connection is configured

Shadowrocket is a client. To establish a connection, you’ll first need to import your own subscription or server details. Get an existing subscription link from your service provider. If you configure a server manually, check that the protocol, address, port, and authentication fields are complete. An App Store purchase receipt is not a subscription URL, and you should never enter your Apple Account password in a configuration field.

When you start a connection and need to add a VPN configuration, your device may ask you to allow the VPN configuration and verify your identity. This is a device authorization step. Continue only after confirming that Shadowrocket initiated the request. Authorization won’t fill in server details or confirm that a remote connection is working. If you choose not to allow it now, follow the prompt again after you’ve prepared your own configuration.

Test the connection before changing settings

After importing a configuration, check that the expected server is selected on Home, then review the current Global Routing mode. Config applies the rules in the configuration file; Proxy and Direct are different routing modes. On your first try, avoid changing several settings at once. Follow the instructions for your existing configuration and test the connection. If something goes wrong, this makes it easier to identify the cause.

Troubleshoot purchase issues separately from connection issues. If the app isn’t installed yet, check your App Store account, device compatibility, and installation status. If the app opens but the connection fails, check your own configuration, network, and authorization. For the next steps, see the getting started guide. For an explanation of routing and rules, see settings and routing.

IPAD / COMPATIBILITY

iPad and other compatible devices

Shadowrocket supports Universal Purchase for iPhone and iPad. After buying it once with an Apple Account, you can find and install it from the App Store on another eligible device. Check the App Store listing for Universal Purchase availability. Verify the account used for Media & Purchases rather than relying only on the account name shown at the top of the device.

On your iPad, open your App Store account page and look for Shadowrocket in your purchased apps. If you already own it, you’ll usually see a download icon. If the store still shows a price, first check the current purchase account, purchase history, and store region. Don’t pay again straight away. Check device compatibility separately; see the App Store listing for system requirements.

The layout may differ; check the configuration separately

The larger iPad screen can change how lists, navigation, and settings are arranged compared with iPhone. Use interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings to find your way through the manual instead of looking for a button at exactly the same coordinates. Control locations depend on the current app interface, and the layout may also change with screen orientation.

Universal Purchase doesn’t mean the selected server, rules, or connection status will always match across devices. After installing Shadowrocket on iPad, check that your own configuration has been imported, your subscription has updated, and the intended Config is active. Even with the same configuration, the two devices may use different networks. Test each device separately rather than assuming the result will be the same.

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Get Shadowrocket for these devices only through the App Store. Check the listing for device eligibility, system requirements, and Universal Purchase availability. A device name alone doesn’t confirm that every model is eligible.

The first-launch and import steps on this page focus mainly on iPhone and iPad. Other compatible devices may have a different layout, so check the store information for your device before buying. If you viewed the product page on another device, confirm availability on the device you plan to use. A product page existing doesn’t necessarily mean the app can be installed on your current device.

PURCHASE / RESTORE

Restore a purchase after changing or resetting your device

When you get a new iPhone, switch to iPad, or reinstall the app, first sign in to the App Store with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Go to App Store → Account → Purchased, search for Shadowrocket, verify the app, then tap the download icon. Eligible redownloads usually don’t require another payment. The Purchased section may appear under “Apps” or another heading in some system versions; use the labels shown on your account page.

If Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in your purchased apps, first check which account you used for Media & Purchases and review your purchase history. Another account on the device can’t automatically replace the original purchase account. Also check whether the app was hidden or the store region has changed. Verify each possibility separately; not finding the app in search doesn’t by itself mean the purchase record is lost.

If the store shows a price again, pause before confirming

If the store shows a price instead of the expected cloud download icon, close the payment confirmation and check your account and purchase history first. Don’t buy it again just to test whether restore works. If your purchase history clearly shows the original purchase but the store status still doesn’t match, use the account or purchase support options shown in the App Store. Keep the on-screen message so you can tell whether the issue is purchase eligibility or regional availability.

Family Sharing and restoring your own purchase are separate processes. Check the App Store listing and your account’s sharing settings to see whether sharing is supported, which family members are eligible, and how it works. A family member being able to open the app doesn’t mean your account has the same purchase eligibility. When changing devices, restore your own purchase from the original account’s purchased apps.

Restore the app and its configuration separately

After reinstalling the app, you’ll also need to restore your own subscription, server details, and configuration files. The App Store purchase record confirms your eligibility to use the client; it doesn’t store all the connection details provided by your service provider. Before changing devices, make sure you can still access your subscription URL or required server fields, and save your existing configuration somewhere safe.

Once the app is installed on your new device, import your own configuration and check the selected server, Global Routing, and active Config. If you used a backup or sync feature on your old device, check exactly what was restored. Don’t assume the connection toggle, authorization, and every setting are ready to use. Subscription URLs, authentication details, and exported configurations may contain sensitive information; don’t post them publicly or share unredacted screenshots.

After restoring your setup, test a few requests and check that the configuration still meets your needs. Being able to open the app only confirms that installation is complete. A working connection also depends on your configuration, service status, and current network. For connection issues, see the FAQ on importing configurations and troubleshooting.

PRICE / PURCHASE SCOPE

Price, one-time purchase, and what’s included

The US App Store reference price for Shadowrocket is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. Prices appear in each storefront’s local currency; the amount shown in the purchase confirmation is the one that applies. One-time purchase refers to the app itself, not a monthly client fee. Before buying, check the currency, amount, and account. Prices from different storefronts may be in different currencies.

The client reads your configuration, processes requests according to your rules, and establishes connections. The address, protocol, and authentication details needed to connect come from your existing configuration. These are separate: paying for the app doesn’t mean you’re ready to connect. If Home has no available server after installation, follow the getting started guide to import your own details instead of buying the app again.

Subscription validity, configuration status, and server availability are explained by your service provider; they aren’t determined by your App Store purchase record. App updates and purchase restoration are handled through the App Store. Knowing the difference helps you troubleshoot in the right place: check store records for billing or purchase recognition, and your existing configuration and service status for missing fields or connection issues.

The pricing information on this page explains how the purchase works; it doesn’t replace the App Store checkout details. Recheck system requirements, compatibility, Universal Purchase, and Family Sharing availability in the store when you buy. Once you’ve confirmed these details, decide whether to complete the purchase. If you already own the app, check your purchased apps first; you don’t need to buy it again each time you use it.

Purchase and installation FAQs

Use the App Store prompts to distinguish store, account, device, and configuration issues.

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket in the App Store?

What if the product page opens, but I can’t complete the purchase or download?

Follow the App Store prompts to check your payment status, store region, device compatibility, available storage, and network connection. If you’ve already paid, check your purchase history and purchased apps before trying again. See the App Store listing for system requirements.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new iPhone?

Sign in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase, find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased, and download it again. You usually won’t need to pay again. Restoring the app and restoring its configuration are separate steps; you’ll still need to import your own subscription or server details on the new device.

Can I install Shadowrocket on my iPad if I bought it for iPhone?

Shadowrocket supports Universal Purchase for iPhone and iPad. On your iPad, sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase and find Shadowrocket in your App Store purchases. Check the App Store listing for Universal Purchase availability and system requirements.

Where can I get Shadowrocket for Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Get Shadowrocket only through the App Store. Check the listing for device eligibility, system requirements, and Universal Purchase availability.

The interface is in English when I first open the app. Where should I start?

Start by identifying interface labels such as Home, Add Server, Subscribe, Config, and Settings. This official manual keeps interface terms in English and explains them in context. Follow the getting started guide to import your existing configuration, choose Global Routing, and test the connection. You don’t need to buy the app again just because the interface is in English.
